WHAT IF YOU COULD CREATE A CITY?
WE’RE ENVISIONING THE FUTURE OF ROCHESTER HILLS AND WE WANT YOUR OPINION!
The Planning and Economic Development Department has kicked off its 2018 master plan process and is seeking community input. The master plan serves as a big-picture, long-range document that guides policy and decision-making about how land in the City is used for housing, transportation, commerce and recreation.
WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?
We’d like to hear from anyone interested in helping us create a vision for the City’s future. You do not need to be a resident or business owner in Rochester Hills to participate.
We’ve developed four ways for you to join the Master Plan development process:
COMPLETE OUR ONLINE SURVEY TODAY!
We’re gathering ideas and opinions about the City in a survey. The survey only takes 10-minutes to complete. Survey responses will be collected now through late spring. Hard copies of the survey are available at City Hall in the Resource Room and at the Planning and Economic Development Department counter if you prefer to fill out a hard-copy of the survey. PictureThis! is an online forum that allows citizens to share their ideas in pictures. You can take and share photos of places that you believe are worth preserving, are in need of some attention, or photos of things you believe the City could use more of. Images can be submitted from any internet browser using a phone, tablet or computer. Click here to upload photos to PICTURETHIS! http://bit.ly/2HfXyAv
The City is seeking artists between ages five to 18 to submit an original drawing, photograph or poem that shows their favorite place in Rochester Hills. Only one entry per artist please. Awards will be divided into categories by age group: Ages five to eight, nine to 13, and 14 to 18. Winning entries will be included in the City’s master plan document in 2018. Entries are due April 30, 2018. Click here to access the page that contains the “Art Contest” PDF form to enter. http://bit.ly/2oPQXUX
Citizens can also share their input and ideas by attending one of our two community input workshops in the spring. These events are open to the public and everyone is encouraged to participate. City staff, officials and facilitators will be available to discuss and meet with residents. The date of the first workshop is April 23, 2018 at the auditorium at Rochester College, 800 W. Avon Rd., Rochester Hills from 4:30-7:00pm.
